Welcome
The East of London Family History Society’s aim is to promote and encourage the public and private study of family history, genealogy, cultural heritage, heraldry and local history with particular reference to the eastern area of Greater London.
The Society was formed in 1978 by a group of enthusiasts who shared an interest in family history research in the historic area to the east of the City of London.
Now a registered charity with over 1,800 members worldwide, the Society has no central offices, telephones or paid staff and all our services are provided by volunteer members.
Whether you are new to studying family history or a seasoned genealogist we hope you will find something to interest you.

Chairman
